Phillip Boatright, Jr. is a physician assistant to Patrick G. Hanson, MD specializing in general orthopedics. He is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and holds clinic in Dublin and Sandersville.
Boatright was raised in Wrightsville, Ga. and attended Brentwood School in Sandersville. As a firefighter and first responder in Wrightsville and Johnson County, he recognized the need for quality healthcare in rural Georgia and wanted to help fill that need and service his community. Additionally, he was inspired by his hometown doctor and her dedication to their small community. At the age of 35, he decided it was time for a career change and went back to school to become a Physician Assistant.
Boatright graduated from Augusta University, formerly Medical College of Georgia, in 2016. While attending, he received the Chairman’s Award of Excellence which is the highest award given by the faculty.
Since graduating he has worked in Swainsboro for an orthopedic / general surgery practice and in the Emergency Department at Emanuel Medical Center.
He and his wife, an ER nurse at Fairview Park Hospital, have two daughters and live in Wrightsville.
